ISA 221. Introduction to Java Programming. 3 Credit Hours.

This course introduces computer programming using the JAVA programming language with object-oriented programming principles. The course begins with a review of control structures and data types with emphasis on structured date types and array processing. Emphasis is placed on programming methods, including creating and manipulating objects, classes, and using object-oriented tools such as the class debugger. This course also introduces students to the ideas of data abstraction and object-oriented programming. Other topics include simple analysis of algorithms, basic searching and sorting techniques, and an introduction to software engineering isues through code discussions.
