Department of Mathematics and Economics

Mathematics and Economics are integral to daily life and serve as the foundation for a multitude of careers. Our unique and comprehensive program emphasizes quantitative analysis, modeling, and robust business acumen, equipping students to become skilled communicators, critical thinkers, and effective leaders.

Our esteemed faculty includes some of the nation's foremost analytical minds, many of whom are members of prestigious academic and professional organizations. They bring extensive industry experience and cutting-edge research into the classroom. As dedicated educators and mentors, they challenge and inspire students to apply their knowledge beyond academic settings.

We believe that learning extends beyond the classroom. By supporting academic clubs and organizations and fostering connections with industry partners, we provide students with real-world experiences and networking opportunities. Our interdisciplinary approach ensures that students are well-prepared for successful careers in a variety of fields: economics, actuarial mathematics, applied statistics, data analysis, policy analysis, finance, consulting, research, and academia.

This is a Statistical Software Program. The four SAS courses can satisfy requirements in our Applied Mathematics and Statistics Major, our Applied Statistics concentration and our Applied Statistics Minor.
